14-Day Calm Premium Guide

Your 14-Day Calm Premium Plan

Advanced enrichment, pheromone integration, and behaviour modification — a complete anxiety management system.

Fitting the Pheromone Collar

Fit the collar on Day 1. Snug fit — two fingers underneath. Trim excess. The collar works through skin contact and warmth; proper fit is essential. Replace every 30 days. Your kit includes 3 collars (90 days total).

Daily Session Structure

Time Tool Purpose
0–10 min Snuffle Mat Mental fatigue before departure
10–15 min Treat Puzzle Cognitive challenge
15–20 min Frozen Lick Mat Calm wind-down

Week 1 — Foundation and Pheromone Integration

Day Focus What to do
1 Collar + Snuffle Fit pheromone collar first thing. Introduce Snuffle Mat with easy visible treats. End before interest wanes.
2 Deeper snuffle Tuck treats lightly into mat folds. Verify collar fit — two-finger rule.
3 Lick Mat + trigger Introduce frozen Lick Mat. Identify one predictable anxiety trigger. Offer Lick Mat 2 minutes before the trigger today.
4 Full sequence Snuffle Mat then Puzzle then Lick Mat in sequence. Time each session — know your dog's engagement window.
5 Pre-departure protocol Full sequence before leaving. Depart without fuss — no lengthy goodbyes. Return equally calm. Critical for departure anxiety.
6 Trigger desensitisation 1 Pick up departure cue (bag, keys, coat). Sit back down. Reward calm. Repeat 5x. Pair Lick Mat with trigger exposure.
7 Assessment Lighter day. Has baseline restlessness reduced? Are departures calmer? The collar is now active and building.

Week 2 — Behaviour Modification

Day Focus What to do
8 Advanced + puzzle solo Deep mat hides. Puzzle on medium difficulty — step back fully. Builds independent coping behaviour.
9 Trigger desensitisation 2 Pick up cue, put on coat, go to door. Stop. Do not leave. Reward calm. Repeat 4x. Break the trigger-departure association.
10 Extended alone time Full morning sequence then leave for 60–90 minutes. Most owners notice a significantly calmer return greeting at this stage.
11 Full circuit + freeze Snuffle Mat then Puzzle then frozen Lick Mat. Use this sequence on any high-anxiety day: vet visit, fireworks, visitors.
12 Independence training Practice short calm separations at home: leave room, close door, return after 2 minutes. Extend gradually. Do not respond to attention-seeking vocalisations.
13 Mealtime enrichment Feed all meals through the Snuffle Mat this week. Remove the food bowl. One of the most impactful long-term habits.
14 Consolidation Full circuit. Compare all behaviours to Day 1. Most owners at this point report noticeably lower baseline anxiety and better departure tolerance.

Separation Anxiety Protocol

  1. Never punish departure distress — it is a genuine fear response.
  2. Practice micro-departures daily: 30 seconds, extend by 30 seconds every 2–3 days.
  3. Always pre-load: frozen Lick Mat in place before you leave.
  4. Desensitise pre-departure cues as per Days 6 and 9 — the most effective single intervention.
  5. Avoid long departures in the first two weeks. Every distressed alone episode reinforces the anxiety.

Noise Sensitivity

  • Begin a Lick Mat session 15–20 minutes before a known noise event.
  • Create a predictable, designated calm space — same spot, same blanket, same conditions each time.
  • Play species-appropriate calming music during noise events (available on most streaming platforms).
  • Do not reinforce fearful behaviour with excessive reassurance — calm acknowledgement only.

Safety

  • Always supervise enrichment sessions.
  • Xylitol-free spreads only.
  • Pheromone collar: safe for continuous wear. Check fit every 2 weeks. Replace every 30 days.
  • If severe symptoms persist beyond this programme, consult a veterinary behaviourist.
